23rd October 2010
Windsurfing: Levington
Wind Direction: wnw
Wind Stength: 10
Surf / Sea State: flat
Air Temperature: 10
Sea Temperature: 14
Weather: sunny periods
Max Speed: 13.87 (knots - unless stated otherwise)
Distance Covered: 15 (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)

As usual all the promised wind disappears again :( but at least the heavy rain stopped !!! With the wind westerly Levington was the only option so after breakfast rigged the 8.5 and had a longboard cruise up river to the Orwell bridge.I was always underpowered but had a okay sail until I knocked my fin out just short of the bridge !!! A quick call to Mag to bring me a spare, our son Dan drove and we met up at the Shell garage on the A14 where Mag told me that she had just learned her poor old dad had passed away :( I had to get back to my board quikly as the tide had turned and I was running out of water !!! back at my gear I found someone walking all over it who said a lady had already rung the police worried that the sailor was missing !!! So I had to ring Mag to ring the police to evert a full scale search !!! I made it up under the bridge and then had to run all the way back to Levington in a wind that had gone very light !!!! So I have come to the conclusion that this is not the best area to sail, very rarely getting flat water or waves and never as much wind as the South coast or Wales !!!!
